2020, a series of three brooches

PLA, stainless steel, copper, brass, cold enamel, car paint, gesso & sea sand

The series began with intuitive drawings around terms that for me capture the DNA of a beautiful jewel: geometry, organic, space, floating and enigma. This intuitive process made it clear that I was searching for an inner wisdom within the jewel, which involved its operation. This led me to the mechanism of the fibula pins used in ancient Greece and Rome. The series confronts the basic geometric shapes of the square with the circle. The small joints and the interwoven shapes are 3D printed.

The project was done during studies at Bezalel Arts and Design Academy, Jewelry and Fashion Dep, 2020.
